Tour Program
DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the airport for transfer to the hotel in Hanoi for check in. Free time at leisure then overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 2: HANOI – MAI CHAU (B/L/D)
Depart Hanoi early morning for a 3.5 hour drive to Mai Chau – Arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau Valley surrounded by spectacular karst rock form7tions and rice paddies. After lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the idyllic natural surroundings and visit the extraordinary Mo Luong (Soldier) Cave. Stay overnight in a traditional stilt-house of the Thai people.
DAY 3: MAI CHAU – SON LA – DIEN BIEN (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the home-stay before we get on the car for a beautiful drive up north to Son La. Let’s stop en route to visit villages of various tribes including the H’mong, Thai, Muong and Dzao and orchard, tea farm in Moc Chau plateau. After lunch, continue along winding mountain roads through North Vietnam’s stunning countryside. The most picturesque scenery here is Pha Din Pass. Upon arrival in Dien Bien Phu, check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Dien Bien Phu.
DAY 4: DIEN BIEN – LAI CHAU – TAM DUONG (B/L/D)
Start the day by visiting Dien Bien Phu Museum and A1 hill then continue to Dien Bien Phu Cemetery to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the heroes who devoted their lives for the victory of the historical Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Visit General De Castries’s Bunker, Old Muong Thanh Bridge and Nam Rom river. After lunch, we will drive along stunning gorges and Nam Na River. Dinner and overnight in Tam Duong town.
DAY 5: TAM DUONG – BINH LU – SAPA (B/L)
This morning, leave Tam Duong for the transfer to Sapa. The drive from Tam Duong to Sapa along route 4D, threading the Fansipan Mountain Range and the China border, is perhaps the most beautiful stretch of road in Vietnam. Climbing the highest pass in Vietnam, the Tram Ton Pass. Lunch in local restaurant en route. We will reach Sapa in the noon time. Overnight in Sapa.
DAY 6: SAPA TREK – NIGHT TRAIN BACK HANOI (B/L)
After breakfast, we first sneak through the Sapa market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you follow a road going downhill to Cat Cat village. After lunch, you head toward Muong Hoa valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You will return Sapa from Tavan by car. Free until time for transfer to the Lao Cai train station for your night train to Hanoi. Dinner is on your own. Overnight on train.
DAY 7: HANOI OUT (B)
Free until time for your transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Trip ends.
